Day 1: Delhi-Shimla
(390 kms) - Drive for Shimla, one of the
most popular hill stations in India. It is referred to as the 'Queen of
Hills'. Shimla is a secular culture boasts for many religious places which
includes several Temples, Churches, Mosque and Gurudwaras. Today, its well
developed facilities, easy accessibility and numerous attractions make it
one of India's most popular hill resorts. Also one can enjoy various
adventures such as Camping, Bungee Jumping, Cycling, Horse Riding, Para
Gliding, Safaris, Skating, Trekking, Wild Life, Yak Riding and many more.
Day 2: Shimla
- Next morning after breakfast take on a city tour to Shimla visiting.
Fagu situated on Hindustan-Tibet Road (22-km), at a height of 2,450m. Fagu
is gifted with some enchanting views. Chail this picturesque resort
located amidst scented forests of chinar, pine and gigantic deodars was
once the summer capital of Maharaja of Patiala. Chail is built on three
hills on the other side of massive Himalayan ranges spectacular in the sun
and snow. Away from hustle and bustle Chail is quit peaceful and
comfortable place to visit. Surrounded by gigantic deodar and
well-maintained Chail Cricket ground is the highest cricket ground in the
world. Several trek routes lead out of Chail up to the Chur Dhar peak and
to Shimla. During winters, skiing is possible at Narkanda. There is also a
wildlife sanctuary 3km from Chail with a limited number of deer and birds.
This is also great hiking country.Kufri at 8,150 ft has some good hiking
trails, including the one to Mahasu peak. Ponies are a convenient way to
explore the delightful valleys and hills. The Indira Tourist Park also
offers some delightful views of the countryside. The Himalayan Nature Park
is home to local animals and birds but apart from a picturesque
countryside, there is not much to see here! Annandale, just 2-km below the
Ridge in Shimla, offers a picturesque piece of ground, charmingly adapted
for recreation in the days of the Raj. Today it affords a pleasant change
from the perpetual slopes above. 7-km west of the ridge from Shimla is the
Chadwick Falls, which was once the site of a 67-m aquatic spectacle. The
most prominent building on the Mall is the yellow Christ Church, reputed
to be the second oldest church in northern India. The silhouette of this
can be seen on the skyline for miles around.Churdhar Sanctuary got its
name from the Chur Peak, on the top of which sits a majestic status of
Lord Shiva. One is sure to come across a large number of multi-colored and
agile Monals in the adjoining forests. No visit to the state capital
Shimla is complete without visiting Jakhu Hill. This hill looms over
Shimla town and is the geographical nucleus. The Hanuman temple at the top
of Jakhu hill is the highest point in town. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Shimla-Delhi
- Day free for leisure. You can opt for adventurous games. Later return
back to Delhi.
